Why teach in Derby?

A Vibrant and Diverse Community of Schools

We are proud of our close knit community of schools and training providers in Derby. We work hard to create an environment that nurtures talent and facilitates innovation in the classroom. A significant number of our primary and secondary schools are rated Good and Outstanding and many of these schools are located in areas that experience high levels of social and economic disadvantage. This bears testimony to the talent and commitment of our teachers and leaders in our schools to offer the very best learning opportunities for our children.

Our communities are diverse and offer numerous opportunities to focus on specific areas and specialisms, whether you want to work in a faith based school, STEM learning environment, Early Years or SEND specialist school.
