Teach First is an on-the-job teacher training programme involving a 5-week introductory training course and 2 years of classroom-based learning to gain a PGDE. There is also an optional third year to complete a Master’s degree.

You will be teaching a class from the first day of school, providing practical understanding and developing your skills as a teacher.

Placements from Teach First are in deprived and underprivileged areas, with pupils from less fortunate backgrounds. With the help of your mentor and the Teach First community, you will overcome challenges and have an impact on young minds.

Unlike other routes, during your training with Teach First you don’t have any fees to pay and receive a salary that progresses as you move through the course.
